Tadelakt

Originating in Morocco, Tadelakt is an ancient waterproof plaster traditionally used in royal palaces and wells. This luxurious lime-based finish is hand-polished with river stones to create a seamless, marble-like surface. It is the perfect natural choice for homeowners seeking a sophisticated and durable organic aesthetic.

scratch coat

After the waterproofing process of the substrate, we apply a traditional scratch coat that evens out the surface and creates a strong, textured  layer for the two basecoats to bond to.

olive oil soap

After multiple layers of Tadelakt are applied, we brush on a natural olive oil soap during the curing stage. This creates a gentle chemical reaction within the lime that forms a waterproof seal.

polish

Using the olive oil soap, we polish the surface with a smooth river stone, tightening and refining the Tadelakt. In the final stage, we apply a natural wax that deepens the sheen and adds an extra layer of protection.
